Eloquent, profoundly melancholic, intelligent and deeply wise, sentimental and provocative yet always raw in terms of emotion, Virginia Woolf was a woman entirely ahead of her time. This is made with much love and respect in her memory.
I went on as if nothing terrible had happened; but it was very forced and queer and humiliating. So I talked and laughed too much. And I came away deeply chagrined, as unhappy as I’ve been these years; revolved it in sleep dreams all night and today has been ruined.
