Eloquent, profoundly melancholic, intelligent and deeply wise, sentimental and provocative yet always raw in terms of emotion, Virginia Woolf was a woman entirely ahead of her time. This is made with much love and respect in her memory.
The truth is, I get nearer feelings in writing than in walking - I think: gaze the bone; enjoy the expression; have them out of me; make them a little creditable to myself; I daresay suppress something, so that after all I’m doing what amounts to confiding.
Virginia Woolf, from a diary entry dated 5 August 1929. (via violentwavesofemotion)
