Eloquent, profoundly melancholic, intelligent and deeply wise, sentimental and provocative yet always raw in terms of emotion, Virginia Woolf was a woman entirely ahead of her time. This is made with much love and respect in her memory.
I think I am a little indifferent now what anyone thinks. Life’s joy is in the doing - I murder, as usually, a quotation: I mean it’s the writing, not the being read that excites me. And as I can’t write while I’m being read, I am always a little hollow hearted; whipped up; but not so happy as in solitude.
Virginia Woolf, from a diary entry dated 27 October 1928.
